Simulation A introduces closed-loop PID control through a heated, well-mixed water tank. The controller adjusts the heater output to maintain the desired tank temperature while responding to changes in the temperature setpoint, inlet temperature, and ambient conditions.
The model includes the fundamental dynamics of the process, actuator, and temperature sensor without explicit dead time. It provides a controlled starting point for studying proportional, integral, and derivative action before additional process complications are introduced.
